In the architecture of the intelligent patrol robot, the YDS TECH ECS-ADP351 industrial computer is not only the hardware core but also the "brain" and "nerve center" for the overall operation of the robot.

1. The "Data Bus" Hub with Multi-Protocol Integration

The ECS-ADP351 features powerful I/O expansion capabilities, which solves the communication challenges of multi-sensor fusion for industrial robots.
  • Motion Control Hub: Precisely connects the motion control unit and gyroscope via the RS232 interface, providing real-time feedback on the robot’s posture and executing steering and walking commands.

  • PTZ and Environmental Sensing: Controls the rotation and zoom of the PTZ camera through the RS485 interface, and collaborates with LiDAR to complete environmental data collection.

  • High-Speed Network Transfer: Acts as the main control terminal to access the industrial Gigabit router via Ethernet, ensuring real-time upload of high-definition video streams and inspection reports to the command center.

2. The Computing Foundation for 3D SLAM Autonomous Navigation

Different from basic obstacle avoidance, the intelligent patrol robot supports sophisticated 3D SLAM laser navigation and positioning.
  • Real-Time Mapping and Positioning: The ECS-ADP351 is responsible for processing high-frequency data from the 32-channel LiDAR, enabling accurate mapping in large areas over 5,000 square meters and supporting 30% dynamic environmental changes.

  • Path Planning and Control: When the robot encounters obstacles, the ECS-ADP351 calculates and issues obstacle avoidance path instructions in real time, ensuring minimal path deviation while the robot climbs slopes of 0-15 degrees or crosses obstacles of 40mm in height.

3. Industrial-Grade High Reliability Assurance

  • Environmental Endurance: As an industrial-grade PC, the ECS-ADP351 features a wide temperature design (-40~65°C) and anti-vibration performance, ensuring the robot operates stably and continuously for long periods in harsh outdoor conditions such as bumpy roads and extreme temperature fluctuations.

4. The Edge Scheduler for Collaborative AI Computing

In complex AI applications, the ECS-ADP351 and dedicated AI computing boards form an efficient "main control + coprocessing" architecture.
  • Task Offloading: The ECS-ADP351 takes charge of logical control, sensor triggering, and task scheduling, while offloading heavy deep learning algorithms (such as face recognition, license plate recognition, and fire and smoke recognition) to the AI computing board.

  • Practical Application: When the AI board detects abnormal temperatures or a person falling, the ECS-ADP351 immediately triggers one-click SOS emergency help, voice intercom, and remote video transmission functions, achieving a seamless connection from "perception" to "response".
